First of all I will apologise for the post is going to be in English, and I will explain you why – also in English.
Tomorrow at 10 am (English time) I have the speaking part of my exam. I will last for 16 minutes and me and my partner are going to go through 4 small parts. I will explain them later.
Maybe you are confused now, and think: “Wasn’t her exam of the 12th of March?” Oh yes, you’re right. The last parts of my exam, which is as following: Reading, Writing, Use of English (Vocabulary and grammar) and Listening are all placed at the 12 of March, but my speaking part take place tomorrow.
I can already tell you, that I’m not going to get result of my speaking part tomorrow. The result will be ready Wednesday the 20th of April as a total score of all five parts.
In the post called “A sejr,” I explained about how the choose two favourites, and one of them were going to be our partners. My partner is Naomi from France and she is a really wonderful girl! We are a good team and our English are on the same level and we cooperate really good! Now I’m just really EXCITED about tomorrow.
Well, as I mentioned before the speaking exam consist of four small parts. The first part is introduction. You have to tell little about yourself like “Where do you come from”, “Describe the area you live in” or “Describe your family”. It is good and makes me calm down before the most important parts of the exam.
In part two of the speaking exam you get a set of pictures, which has something is common. You have to describe the pictures and find the differences and the similarities. You also have to answer a question. This part take one min, which it’s long time when you first get started! Then your partner will answer another question related to your pictures and then it’s your partner’s turn to do the exactly same thing.
Part 3 consist of five to seven pictures and you and your partner have to discuss these pictures and then answer two questions again. An example can be that you’ve got 7 different photographs in front of you, and these shows some special occasions like your child’s relay, some young people at the graduation from university, a picture from a holiday, two girls with their flutes and two medals each, a birthday party, a little child, who is just born, a marriage and five men on the South or North Pole. The first question could be “Why would people keep these photographs?” You go through almost each photograph and answer this questions. The second question could be: “Which photo is the most special?” And then you use some time to discuss that. You only got 3 min! You might find this quite easy, but 3 minutes is NOT long time and Naomi and I are quite good at using too much time on this part. This is our challenge tomorrow.
The fourth and the last part can be challenge. It is a bit individual what is going to happen. Maybe you and your partner get 2 or 3 questions, which could be about anything. Or the censor could give you one statement and then you have to discuss that with your partner. However, this or these questions are quite related to part 3 and it will take 4 minutes.
During this writing my hands started to shake a little bit, and my mind is quite anxious now!
Today we had an mock exam. And I think it went quite well. You could get from 1-5 points and I got 4.5 and Naomi got 4, so we’re gonna pass pass pass pass pass this exam!
With Love,
Marie.
